Fiwi People!

Dem a family? Mi hear im seh...

And I know what this means... We here in Jamaica tend to adopt cousins and support people based on personal preferences, similarities or longstanding friendships, school ties and mutual allies.

Its commonplace for people to introduce persons as family most often cousins where there is some family link possibly. Or maybe its not even proven or certain if there are any actually family ties, but the bonds are as strong as family or at times even stronger. Bonds made through kinship, community and communal living that creates extended families.

The issue I am concerned about is that often times I notice there is a culture, even in workplaces and business places. Of supporting persons based on biases and personal preferences, to the point of ignoring the rules and regulations completely. Which results in a situation where fairness is not applied most often, in fact there can be observed an acceptance for completely prejudicial treatment. Treating even customers differently dependent on friendships is not ethical really and its not good business practice either!

I am offering as a Freelance Communications Consultant, and a Specialist in Sales, Marketing and Promotion, a Customer Service training program. Aimed at helping Small businesses and professionals with identifying more positive, fair, open-minded business practices. To facilitate team building, positve business practices and ultimately help boost the team and businesses overall performance and dramatically increase your bottom line, resulting in increased profitability!
