EINSTEIN The Genius fears we are idiots - correct or not?

I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.

Albert Einstein? Cell Phone Critics? Pranksters? Apocryphal
“The day that Albert Einstein feared may have finally arrived”. The message showed eight pictures of groups of people looking intently at cell phone screens. The people were ignoring one another and were oblivious to their surroundings. The images were being used to comically illustrate the following quotation credited to Albert Einstein

"I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots."

Lets us for a moment study and research this idea, have we become more intelligent by using Virtual Reality, Tools, Internet, Intelligence and Smart Phones/TVs or have our minds been trained to become lazy?  It can be easily observed in any public place, transportation, event that the Mobile Phone/Tablet or other PED (Personal Electronic Device) have completely taken over most human social interactions. There are few places that persons cannot be seen pointing their phones in the air and snapping "selfies" and group "selfies and being constantly distracted by chat and social media apps that can easily engage persons in a virtual social world and keep them totally distracted from what is going on in the real world around them.

I have even noticed recently that there seems to be an on going rhetoric on Whats app, even possibly a script that persons are following or a story, similar to the drama series that person would have listened to in days of old on the radio. Listening to their favorite programs for the sequel or updates. These days it seems that the program is literally running in real time on the handheld devices. The issue is that with so many anonymous "pranksters" and worse malicious persons using these services, receiving and responding to messages on whats app from unknown persons can be unsafe. Worse if the unsuspecting persons actually take instructions from whats app messages that could have a serious detrimental affect on them and others and even indirectly cause harm to them or other users. I have even heard of persons trying to incite violent and malicious acts after being instructed by messages on whats app?

Honestly there is a lack of moral values, principles and manners being practiced, you can see that clearly by observing this generation of youth. They have grown up in a time where the digital age, virtual reality is leading them more than any other influence it seems. They illustrate how acute this issue really is, and there is a lack of moral value in our culture and society. In fact I think the Moral Fibre of our society at present is completely rotten and need to be replaced, just as much as the Constitution needs to be reformed, our country needs urgent reform.. starting with the YOUTH! As we all know they are the future leaders of this country and very soon they will be the ones making the decisions for us all!
As scary as that sounds - its in fact the reality so we better get with the program, face the harsh reality of the truth and put a handle on the situation sooner rather than later!

Jungle JUSTICE

Is it right to inflict injury in an attempt to offer immediate remedy, or punishment for a situation that has not been properly investigated, thoroughly researched or evidence provided to prove that the person is certainly guilty of the alleged offence. All too easily in Jamaica there has been a habit of branding people too easily with labels, "Tief", "Bitch" or "Maduman' or "Madman!" And then the public reacts, often in a violent or aggressive manner, but is it a good idea to beat a person, especially on the head who is possibly, or in actual fact suffering from a mental problem or brain deficiency of some sort, is that not an illogical and inappropriate mental response to the issue in itself?
Furthermore is it possible to retract such punishment or humiliation once the acts are performed can they be taken back? Can a persons reputation be easily restored once damaged, once words are said can they be erased from persons memory? Once a stigma has been attached to a persons reputation can that be easily removed from the popular opinions of the public that are often more true to most that socialize and commune with their peers, than the actual facts.

These questions need to be asked by persons before they allow their opinions to become the only foundation for their actions. REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD! This expression is so true as some things take time to marinate and to reveal their true nature...

Furthermore if it is said a person is not of sound mind.. or mad or crazy by a person who perhaps dislikes them for whatever reasons. Would this not need to be proven by a medical evaluation and presented in a court. Anyone who perpetuates the opinions of a malicious person, whose opinions are not proven to be fact but rather are merely an attempt to sabotage, are aiding the spreading of liable information and the defaming of that persons character. Let us all be forewarned to be careful what we say... if it cannot be proven, if its not helpful, if its not for the greater good does it help to say it at all?!

MIND your Business!

One thing that I really cant stand is when people don't mind their own business..

I remember my Mother detested my typical Jamaican families culture of hanging in the window... watching, discussing, commenting on the neighbours, what they were driving, what they are wearing, who they are with and where they are going at whichever time..

Remember the saying "Small minds discuss people, medium minds discuss events and Big minds discuss ideas", business etc. Well my mind is constantly thinking of my latest get rich plan, business idea, or invention. I have no time for idle gossip, speculating about peoples personal lives or anything that doesn't have a value. That value doesn't have to be monetary either when I say value let me explain, if it has no value, it means that it doesn't teach me something or help develop my intellect or skills..

I wish I could say the same about most of my peers in Jamaica and elsewhere. Like Vibes Kartel would say "Mind pon mi money and mi money pon mi mind...!" Mi a pree the dollar signs..

Right now I think its about time people use their energy and invest it wisely into things that are productive and that will help develop a better economy that is sustainable for the future generations to continue. It makes no sense discussing people, things that have been said, rumours that spread but no source can be found and no substance either and most times the alleged argument cannot be proven.

As a result people are verbally abused, chastised, ridiculed, embarrassed and humiliated often times for no reason at all other than to please the perverse nature of people to enjoy watching persons suffer for the pure enjoyment of it. This is one of the ugliest realities of our culture here in Jamaica. There is really nothing at all to gain from enjoying publicly hurting people either mentally, emotionally or physically. Even if the person has offended you actually after the beating, the humiliation does it actually change the facts? Does it actually replace what is broken, what is already dead or who is able to cause the blame to be shifted from the guilty to innocent persons who now are baring the brunt of the punishment for what they haven't even done?

Meanwhile time and time again whilst the innocent are made to pay in often horrific ways, those who are responsible in fact manage to escape being found out. They feel that they are able to run things, and turn things around in their favour by using their wits, their connections and the power of manipulation to take advantage of the vulnerable.  Persons who are less fortunate in terms of finance, or connections and have less power, legal counsel or tools available to them are often forced to pay the price for those who are in a position to afford an alternative.

So many children and young people have been raised in this system, that they are actually sadly a product of this ruthless culture. So much is this apparent more than ever when observing the cruelty perpetuated among the younger generation when dealing with their peers, it is extreme! Still what is even more disturbing is their unsurprising lack of respect for the authorities, leaders and the older generation in general.

Still its not difficult to understand with the adults perpetrating so many crimes in full view of them, and speaking such negative things into existence, conversations about death, sexually explicit and adult content should be censored. If these children continue to evolve within that scope and be better than the examples they have been given would be expecting too much of them. If we speak positively and take care to teach principles, manners and censor the content from them that is for older persons they would be better prepared for negotiating the boundaries of morality and the difficult tests that life will give them.

Is it helpful to discuss things with them or in front of them that encourage them to tackle issues that are beyond their young minds level of experience or encourage them to disrespect their elders, have no regard for privacy laws, data protection or even the law in general?!

Since I hear people using their children as an excuse for this and that everyday, for better treatment for sympathy, for better facilities etc they need to use their children as a motivation to do better!
