Bob Marley for National Hero

Today is February 6th and again it marks the Birthday of our late, GREAT, "unsung" Hero Bob Marley. And February is also known as Reggae Month, an annual celebration of our own authentic musical genre. That has become a global musical sensation. Since its early roots in ska and rock steady in the 60's and 70's its become one of the most magnificent sounds that has influenced popular culture and world music in a global sense.

February 1st also marks the Birthday of another Reggae Legend, Dennis Brown, titled "The Crown Prince of Reggae".

Still I am an advocate of making this date an Annual Celebration and commemoration of Bob's work that is recognized officially and could even become a National Holiday!

Also I believe that many others of our Artistes, Entertainers and Media personalities are not really recognized enough for their efforts, time, energy and their contribution to assist with social change, leadership and community stewardship in general. I honestly believe that we should celebrate them more! Our heroes don't have to be already deceased to be recognized as a National Hero. After all they are more valuable to us whilst alive!
